Albert Griwzow

April 11, 1933 ~ November 21, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old

ALBERT GRIWZOW, 84, of Pick City, passed away on November 21, 2017, at the Benedictine Living Center, Garrison.  A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM CST, on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery, six miles north of Stanton, with Pastor John Whitaker officiating. 

Albert was born on April 11, 1933, to Alexander and Emilie (Weis) Griwzow, in Rohbach, Romania.  At a very young age Albert witnessed many things associated with WWII, including being moved around to many places until the family was reunited.  In 1951, the family migrated to the United States, settling in North Dakota.  Albert enlisted in the U.S. Army and was later honorably discharged.

Albert married Arlene Boeshans on November 4, 1957, and together they had six children.  In 1969, they moved to Columbia Falls, MT, where he worked at an Aluminum Plant for many years.  After retiring, he moved back to Pick City, where he has since lived.  He loved to go camping and hiking.  Albert also enjoyed fishing, listening to music and dancing.

He is survived by six children, Ken, Jim, Jerry Griwzow, Linda (Dave) Salimen, Judy Watins, and Diane Johnson; three grandchildren, Brittnay Griwzow, Alexis Watins, Kenda Johnson; one great-grandchild, Garrett Markham.

Albert is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Arrangements conducted by Barbot Funeral Homes, Beulah and Hazen.
