Dennis Gene Holland, 58, of Hazen, North Dakota, peacefully passed away, Monday, April 3, 2017 at St Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at St Martin Catholic Church, Hazen with Deacon Dan Wallach officiating.

Dennis was born May 20, 1958 to Glenn and Irene (Blakey) Holland in Orange County, California. He moved to Vancouver, Washington where he worked at James River Paper Plant for many years. On May 8, 1976 Dennis married the love of his life, Trudy Leingang, and soon after had the first of three children. In 1999, he moved to North Dakota where he worked odd jobs including carpentry, roofing and making gun accessories. Dennis struggled with pain for many years from an accident involving shattering his feet and later being diagnosed with COPD, kidney failure and heart failure.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, listening to music loudly and spending time with family and friends.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Trudy Holland of Hazen; three sons, Jason Holland of Hazen, Mike & Leigh (Walleen) Holland of Hazen and Richard Bais (who Dennis considered his son); one daughter Jennifer (Holland) & Jeff Bannister of Hazen; one brother, Dan Holland of Portland, OR; one sister, Vicki (Holland) & Wayne Young of Arizona City, AZ; 12 grandchildren; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Irene, one brother, David, and a grand baby who died of SIDS, Jayce. 

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
