Frieda Ballensky, 95, of Beulah, ND, passed away on September 7, 2017, at the Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT, Monday, September 11, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with Pastor Mary Lou Aune officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery south of Beulah. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 PM CDT at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Frieda was born January 12, 1922, on the family farm. She grew up and attended country school in the area. She worked on the farm and also for Dr. Vinge as a nanny. She married Herb Ballensky on December 8,1947, at St. Paul Lutheran Church north of Hazen, and together they farmed 12 miles south of Beulah until they retired in 2005 and moved to Beulah. They enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens to play cards, talking German and spending time with family and friends. Herb passed away in April of 2007.

Frieda enjoyed quilting, baking, crocheting and life on the farm. She could be found working with Herb side by side on the farm.

Frieda is survived by her children, Donald (Sandy) Ballensky of Beulah and Jerry (Julie) Ballensky of Beulah; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Jennifer) Ballensky of Mandan, ND, Jesse Ballensky of Mandan, ND, Jerric Ballensky of Bismarck, ND, Katrina Ballensky of New Salem, ND, Craig (Amanda) Ballensky of Otsego, MN, Jason Ballensky of Williston, ND, Alaina (Tyson) Jankowski of Beulah, ND; ten great-grandchildren, Breanna, Isiah, Keenan, Kayden, Quintin, Eden, Gavin, Eva, Payton and Rylan; one sister Viola (Hilbert) Bohrer of Bismarck, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.

Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, Herb; her parents; one brother Erhardt (Helen) Kruckenberg.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
