JAMES (JIM) WILLIAM GIOVANNI, 69, of Washburn died Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST, Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen with Pastor Rick Cook officiating.  Burial will follow at Peace Congregational Cemetery, Zap, ND.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday at Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen.

James was born on July 1, 1947, in Greybull, Wyoming to Darlene Smith and William Giovanni.  He attended school and graduated in 1965 from Greybull High School.  He was united in marriage to Janice Giovanni on November 29, 1969 at the Dunn County Court House.  He worked at Farmers Union in Beulah until they made their home in Hazen.  While in Hazen, James worked at the Shimmin Lumber Yard and KTM Electric.  They lived in Hazen until 1997 when they moved to Washburn.  James worked at K & D Services as a service technician until he retired in 2009. 

James enjoyed playing cards, fishing, Farm Town on Facebook and visiting with friends and family.  James spent the past two years traveling back and forth with Janice to her doctors’ appointments.  He enjoyed visiting with nurses and doing puzzles in the waiting rooms and of course eating out in Bismarck.  He was also very proud of his children and grandchildren.

James is survived by his daughters, Judy (Mike) Halter and Jamie (Kurt) Clemensen; grandchildren, Teah, Harley Kaitlyn, Christian, Alivia, and Aurora; sisters, Joyce, Nita, Sharon, Janie, Judy and Kay; one brother, Danny; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice; two daughters, Julie Black and Judith Giovanni; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Clemensen; one brother, Kenneth.
