Janice Giovanni, 68, of Washburn, ND died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 2:00 PM CST on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen with Pastor Rich Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Congregational Cemetery, north of Zap, ND.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday at Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen.

Janice was born on May 15, 1948 in Zap to Alma Beick and was raised by Dan and Lydia Beick. She attended school and graduated in 1966 from Zap High School. After graduation, Janice worked in a couple of cafes, including the café during the Zap-In.

Janice was united in marriage to James Giovanni on November 28, 1969 at the Dunn County Court House. She worked at Farmers Union in Beulah until they made their home in Hazen. They lived in Hazen until 1997 when they moved to Washburn. Janice worked at K&D Services from 1997 to the time of her death.

Janice enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors. She loved spending time and talking on the phone with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included puzzles, crossword, reading and playing

            Janice is survived by her husband of 48 years, James Giovanni of Washburn; two daughters, Judy (Mike) Halter of Liberty, MO and Jamie (Kurt) Clemensen of Parshall, ND; and five grandchildren, Teah, Harley, Kaitlyn, Christian and Alivia.

She is preceded in death by her daughters, Julie (Giovanni) Black and Judith Giovanni; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Clemensen; her parents, Dan and Lydia Beick; and her mother and step-father, Alma and Alvin Bratland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Washburn Ambulance or Bismarck Cancer Center, 500 North 8th St, Bismarck, ND 58501.
