JAMES “JIM” BOHRER, 70, of Bismarck, formerly of Halliday, passed away on November 2, 2017, at his home in Bismarck.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM MST, Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Halliday with Pastor Dorothy Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Halliday, ND.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, CST, Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

James was born on August 5, 1947, to William and Ida (Wolf) Bohrer in Beulah, ND.  He graduated from Halliday High School in 1965.  He attended college at Wahpeton State School of Science from 1966 to 1967.  He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1970.  Jim worked for Dunn County Road Department for 35 years.  He also had an upholstery shop and operated the Halliday Movie theatre for eight years.  After retiring from Dunn County in 2004, Jim and his wife moved to Bismarck, ND where he did maintenance work for IMM/IRET properties until around 2010.

Jim married Jeanette (Steffen) Bohrer on July 7, 1973.  They had two children, Bart and Becky Bohrer.  Jim loved fishing, particularly at the spring creek in Halliday, hunting, gardening, playing pinochle, spending time with friends and family, attending sporting events as well as watching sports, especially football, baseball and basketball.  He was a Green Bay Packer fan.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jeanette of Bismarck; one son, Bart of Minot; one daughter, Becky of Bismarck; his twin sister, Sarah (John) Dagon of Egan, MN; one brother, Dennis (Denise) Bohrer of Halliday; brother-in-law, Lloyd Hendrickson; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, JoAnn Hendrickson and Ardella Gross.
