Keith Piatz Obituary

Keith L. Piatz, 65, of Stanton, ND died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND. Services will be held at 2:00 PM CDT on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanton with Pastor Dennis Ristvedt officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Keith was born on April 22, 1952 at Hazen Memorial Hospital, the son of Joseph and Stella (Yeager) Piatz. He graduated from Stanton High School in 1970. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1971-1973. In 1973, Keith joined the Iron Workers Local #793 and was an active Iron Worker for 42 years until retiring from local #512 on April 27, 2014. He was then an honorary retired Iron Worker for four years. Keith enjoyed hunting and reloading shells, which he did for years.

Keith married Denise Running in October 1973 and the couple had three daughters, Nikki, Crystal and Mindy. He married Judith Lang on December 5, 1997 and was blessed to add two stepsons to his family, Travis and Corey.

Keith is survived by his wife, Judy of Stanton; three daughters, Nikki Lambert of Bismarck, Crystal (Lonn) Boyd and their children, Olivia and Landon of Fargo, ND, and Mindy (Tom) Wiest and their children, Jocelyn, Makenzee, Malia, Braelyn and Talon of Underwood, ND;  two stepsons, Travis Dockter and his children, Tayler (Alex) Kopp and their son, Easton of Bismarck, Jaedyn, Miayah and Trey all of Hazen and Corey (Miranda) Dockter of Stanton; one brother, Michael of Stanton; two sisters, Eileen Norenberg of Oregon and Janice Ammon of Jamestown, ND; his mother- and father-in-law, Marvin and Katie Leer of Stanton; one brother-in-law, Jim Grannis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Stella Piatz; one sister, Shirley Grannis; one sister-in-law, Pam Piatz; two brothers-in-law, Arlen Ammon and Bill Norenberg; and one nephew, Jimmy Grannis.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
