Lorraine V. Buchmann

February 9, 1926 ~ November 20, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old

LORRAINE V. BUCHMANN, 91, of Bismarck, ND, formerly of Beulah, ND, passed away on November 20, 2017 with her family by her side. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Friday, November 24, 2017, at the Beulah Congregational Church, Beulah, ND, with Pastor Frank Sapp officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Beulah City Cemetery.

Lorraine Vivian (Moos) Buchmann was born February 9, 1926, in Bluegrass, ND, to Rudolph Moos and Martha (Kroh) Moos. Lorraine was raised in the Bluegrass area and attended school there until completing the 7th grade.

Lorraine married Eugene Buchmann on October 3, 1943, at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, ND. Lorraine could be found by Eugene’s side when it came to working on the farm. Lorraine loved to cook and garden, but especially loved tending to her flowers. When Eugene had customers or salesmen at the repair shop during meal time there was always enough food for them. Lorraine belonged to a homemakers club when they were first married. In addition to Lorraine’s love for gardening and cooking she loved to crochet and sew, especially her quilts. Many people have received her quilts as wedding, graduation, birthday or baby presents, or they may have received one just because she thought they needed one.  Her quilts have traveled to as far as to Australia.  People that knew Lorraine knew that her faith and her family were very important to her.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Eugene of 74 years; three daughters, Dorothy (Tim) Sanda of Lincoln, ND, Loretta Anderson of Fargo, ND, and LaVonne (Melvin) Neuberger of Beulah, ND; one son, Vernon (Ofelia) Buchmann of Fairfield, CA; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marlene Grabau of Las Vegas, NV; numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Larry Anderson; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Anderson; one great-grandson, Dylan Neuberger; three brothers, Raymond, Elmer, and Wilbert Moos; two sisters, Hilda Keeler and Della Schoepp.

Arrangements conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
