Renae Buchfinck, 67, of Zap, ND passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Beulah Congregational Church, Beulah with Pastor Frank Sapp officiating.

Renae was born on November 2, 1949 in Hazen, ND to Harry and Hollis (Herman) Schirado from Glen Ullin, ND. She was raised and educated in Glen Ullin and was also baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Ullin. Renae married the love of her life, Merrill Buchfinck, on January 17, 2007 and the couple has resided in Zap ever since.

In Renae’s younger years she loved to travel. She also loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens, reading, doing crossword puzzles and checking out different casinos with her best friend, Bev. Renae was an animal lover and spoiled and loved on every animal she came in contact with.

Renae is survived by her loving husband, Merrill of Zap; her son, Chad (Julie) Doll of Limon, CO; her step-son, Dallas (Rachel) Buchfinck; five grandchildren, Ashlee, Sidney, Tristen, Simon and Bailey; one brother, Harry Dean Schirado of Glen Ullin; two sisters-in-law, Sarah (Jerry) Bauer of Stanton, ND and Lynette Buchfinck of Spokane, WA; and her best friend of 44 years, Beverly Kadramas of Dickinson, ND.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Emanuel (EC) and Emelia (Seiler) Herman and Anton and Katie (Rausch) Schirado.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials  are preferred to Hazen Hospice, 510 8th Ave NE, Hazen, ND 58545.
