SANDRA MAE STERN, 62, of Halliday, ND, passed away on May 17, 2017, at her home.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM MDT, Monday, May 22, 2017, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Halliday with Pastor Dorothy Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Halliday.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.

Sandra was born on July 26, 1954, to Sam and Dorothy (Bauer) Erdmann.  She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Halliday.  She graduated from Halliday High School in 1972.  On June 2, 1973, Sandra married Gary Stern.  They have resided on the family farm north of Halliday, farming and ranching, for nearly 44 years of their married lives.

Sandra enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.  She had a great love for animals like her special dog, Sparky.  She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and listening to music.  She loved to work as the assistant cook at the Halliday School but was most proud of being a school bus driver for many years with both the Halliday and Killdeer schools.  Sandra had a wonderful sense of humor and had the kindest heart.  Everyone who knew her, loved her.  She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

She is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Cory (Mikki); daughter, Jenna (Philip) all of Halliday; five grandchildren, Cory Jr., Khloe, Durwin, Jaelyn and Kaylee, all of Halliday; two sisters, Marlene (Duane) Vastag of Mandan, Arliene (Gerald) Scheurer of Golden Valley; brother-in-law, Kenny Paulson of Bismarck; sister-in-law, Sandra (Wayne) Stuhlmiller of Bismarck; numerous nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Darlene, sister, Shirley Paulson; one grandson, Allen Stern; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Edwin and Hilda Stern; one brother-in-law, Vernon Hornberger; her beloved dog, Charlie Brown
