Wilma I. (Isaak) Lang

August 11, 1931 ~ July 28, 2016 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Wilma Irene Lang, 84, Zap, died peacefully surrounded by her family on July 28, 2016 at Knife River Care Center, Beulah.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT, Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah, with Pastor Toby Heller officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, Aug. 1, 2016 at Barbot Funeral home, Beulah.

Wilma was born to Frederick and Emma (Machau) Isaak on the family’s homestead on August 11, 1931.  Growing up Wilma enjoyed spending her time outdoors.  She would often rather work in the barn rather than doing dishes.  Wilma loved spending time fishing with her father and watching him play baseball.  On April 3rd, 1951, Wilma married Marvin Lang at Trinity Lutheran Church north of Hazen.  They farmed west of Zap before eventually moving into Zap.  Wilma was a very active member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church.  She taught Sunday School for over 30 years and was a member of the LWML.  Wilma was also active in the Homemakers Club and was a 4-H leader.

Wilma had a passion for sewing, painting, and anything involving crafts.  Wilma passed her love of painting on to her grandchildren.  She spent many years teaching painting classes to her grandchildren as well as other children at Zap School.  Wilma loved spending time with her grandchildren whether that was camping out in a tent, fishing, or just reading to them.  Her grandchildren loved spending time at her house as they knew there would always be Schwan’s ice cream in the freezer.

Wilma is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law,  Virginia and Dale Deibert, Surrey, Susan and James Schutt, Cloquet, MN, and Cynthia and Delvin Zahn, Zap; eight grandchildren, Thadeus and Julie Zahn, Tamara and Kurt Gilling, James and Jennifer Schutt, Thomas Zahn, Theresa and Chris Addison,  Jennifer and Justin Pool, Christina Schutt, and Chelsie Lang; seven great-granddaughters, Kailey Zahn, Mandy Zahn, Kimberly Schutt, Emma Gilling, Ava Gilling, Maisie Addison, Fiona Addison;  two sisters and one brother, Margie Miller, Gordon and Marion Isaak, DyAnn and Ivan Ellwein; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Wilma is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; son, Marcus; two infant daughters, Anna Marie and Emma Caroline and one infant son, Paul Henry and her parents.  Funeral arrangements by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
