Deann Lee Neuberger, 34, went home surrounded by her family at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN, after a brief, hard fought battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Salem United Methodist Church, Hazen, ND with Pastor Cory Thrall officiating. A lunch will immediately follow at Hazen City Hall.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Deann was born in Bismarck, ND on May 16, 1984 to Ken and Dorothy (Oster) Neuberger. She was the smiley, on the go, crazy younger sister. She started school in Riverdale and later went to Hazen and graduated there. She attended Black Hill State University in Spearfish, SD and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree. She moved back to Hazen and started working as an accountant for Ed Grunett, which later became Widmer Roel.
In 2013, Deann became aunt to Lily, a role she absolutely loved. They shared a bond over dragons, superheroes, books, and snuggly blankets. Deann was Aunty, nobody else had that title, just Deann.
Deann loved art. Her hobbies were painting, suncatchers, bead work, jewelry, and making 3D metal models. Four wheeling in South Dakota with Emily was a highlight of the fall. Deann loved action movies, all kinds of music and reading, especially Harry Potter. She was a Griffendor through and through.
Deann is survived by her parents, Ken and Dorothy Neuberger; her sister and brother-in-law, Trisha and Michael Beckman; her beloved niece, Lily Beckman; her grandmother, Helen Oster; and her aunts, uncles and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edwin and Edna Neuberger, Lawrence Oster, and her fur baby, RJ.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Sakakawea Hospice, Hazen, are preferred.
Arrangements conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
