Donald Allen Obituary

Donald “Agnes” Allen, 62, of Center, ND passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the University of Columbia Medical Center, Columbia, MO. Services will be held at 1:00 PM CDT on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanton with Pastor Dennis Ristvedt officiating. Cremation has taken place. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Donald was born on May 7, 1956 to Francis and Lucille (Veidt) Allen in Hazen, ND. He grew up and attended school in Stanton, ND. Donald began working for ICI after school and was employed with them for 15 years. He was later employed with United Power (UPA) for 15 years. Donald married Lorie Jares on November 23, 1984 in Staples, MN and the couple had two daughters, Kandi and Angie.

Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, word search puzzles and playing dice and card games. He was active in basketball, football, coached women’s softball in the summer and was active in a pool league with UPA. He had a love of traveling, especially making trips to Yellowstone National Park. Donald was a very caring man with a big heart who will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Kandi Allen of Center; one sister, Sharon (Delmar) Meissel of Hazen, ND; a special friend, Wayne Campbell of Staples, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Lucy; his brother, Kelly; two sisters, Sandy Phelps and Glenda Allen; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
