Donald Roth

Donald Dale Roth, 77, passed away on August 4, 2019, at the Knife River Care Center, Beulah.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT, Friday, August, 9, 2019, at Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen, with Pastor Kirk Peters officiating.  Burial will follow at the Hazen City Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen.

Donald Dale Roth was born on February 16, 1942, to Ludwig and Emma (Ude) Roth at Golden Valley, ND.  He was baptized on March 3, 1942 in Golden Valley and confirmed on June 3, 1956, at Golgotha Lutheran Church, Golden Valley, ND.  He grew up on the family farm until moving to Bismarck in 1958.  He moved to Glendive, MT and began working for John Ming.  Don later moved to Eureka, MT and worked at the Libby Dam.  In 1977, he moved to Fortine, MT to work on L.A. Ranch and sawmill.

Don retired in 2003 and returned to North Dakota living on the Tobias Weber farm north of New Salem. Don suffered a stroke on Easter Sunday and spent the rest of his time at CHI St. Alexius, Knife River Care Center and Sakakawea Medical Center.

Don’s family would like to say a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Sakakawea Medical Center and the Knife River Care Center for special care given to Don.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hazen Hospice or the donor’s choice.

Don is survived by one brother, Mel (Bea) Roth of Hazen; sisters, Arline (Edwin) Emineth of Bismarck, Lucille Emineth of Mandan; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; two brothers, Harold and John Roth; one brother-in-law, Leonard Emineth; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
