Gary Neuberger Obituary

Gary Lee Neuberger 60, of Beulah, ND passed away of cancer at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ on August 23, 2018 at 9:27 AM.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church Beulah, with Pastor Mary Lou Aune of Zion officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Gary was born in Hazen North Dakota on January 5, 1958.  He graduated from Beulah High School.  He served in the National Guard from 1978 to 1982.  Gary married Judy Himmelspach of Center, North Dakota on September 5, 1986.   

Gary worked for the City of Beulah for 32 years as the Superintendent of the Beulah Water Treatment Plant.  Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Gary was a football fan, a die-hard Green Bay Packer fan (Go Pack Go) and enjoyed Fighting Sioux Hockey.  In the fall you could find Gary on the sidelines of the Beulah Miner Football team doing chains.  He was proud of his 32 years of being a part of the Miner Chain Gang.  Gary was an active volunteer fire fighter for the Beulah Fire Department. He was also an ASA umpire for 25 years.  Gary served on the church council at Zion Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Eagles Club and served as President for a term. He also was a member of the Pheasants Forever, Jaycees and Lions Club. He was also a part of a special group of friends known as the FOCCERS. 

Gary is survived by his wife Judy of Beulah ND; son, Shawn Neuberger of Scottsdale AZ; his mother, Vila Blair of Beulah ND; one brother, Dallas (Sheila) Neuberger of Beulah; three sisters, Vickie (Jeff) Strusz of Minnesota, Cathy Loflin of Texas and Holly (Greg) Alfeteras of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Gary is preceded in death by his father, Duane Neuberger and two sisters, Twila (Neuberger) Rodgers (no relation to Aaron Rodgers) and Diane (Neuberger) Hendrickson. 

In lieu of flower Gary’s request was a donation be given to the Beulah Fire Department.
