Irene M. Peterson, 82, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loved ones on November 5, 2017, at the Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck, ND.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM MST, Friday, November 10, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dodge, with Pastor Tom Olson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Spring Creek Cemetery, rural Dodge.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Irene was born on a farm north of Beulah on July 12, 1935 to Adolf and Alvina (Mettler) Renner. Irene lived and worked in Dodge, ND the majority of her life, where she loved her home and neighbors. She dedicated 20 years of her life working at the Dodge School and was so proud to work there. She made many friends through her job at the school including teachers and students.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Caroline, Ruth, and Gilbert; and her husband Jim Peterson. Irene loved to work in her garden and enjoyed plants and flowers of all kinds. She loved to watch the birds outside her window and always made sure they were fed.

She is survived by her children, Don (and spouse, Marilyn) and Margie; grandchildren Sarah (and spouse, Darrell), Carla, Ariel, Zoe; great-grandsons, Isaiah, Paxten and Ethan; sister, Esther; numerous nieces and nephews.

Irene loved her family more than anything in this world and never missed an opportunity to tell them.
