Kathleen "Patty" C. (Boeshans) Fandrich

Kathleen C. “Patty” Fandrich 75, of Beulah, ND, died peacefully on December 28, 2019, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Services will be held at 10:00AM CST, Friday, January 3, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah with Pastor Mary Lou Aune officiating.  Burial will follow at Kronthal Cemetery, North of Beulah.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Kathy was born in Hazen Hospital on May 14, 1944, to Fred and Lydia (Weidner) Boeshans.  She was baptized June 25, 1944, and confirmed March 30, 1958.  She was raised and educated in Beulah, and graduated in 1963 from The College of Medical Technology in Minneapolis.  Kathy got her nickname “Patty” because her parents wanted to name her Patricia, but since she was born on her grandmother, Katrina’s birthday, Katrina insisted they name her Kathleen.

On December 21, 1963, Kathy married her loving husband of 56 years, Clyde Fandrich, also from Beulah. Together they bought a farm west of town, where she greatly enjoyed farm life -- including gardening, milking cows, raising all type of livestock, and even caring for wild animals. She also enjoyed painting, crafting, and playing the piano.

Kathy worked in the medical field as an MLT (Lab technologist) in Beulah, Hazen, and St. Alexis Hospital in Bismarck. She often talked about the wonderful friends she made at work.  Eventually she started her own business, Kathy’s Kitchen Krafts, where she sewed and made many specialty kitchen and home items.  Kathy was happiest when helping others.  She sometimes enjoyed doing this in sneaky ways, which could involve some type of joke.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Clyde Fandrich of Beulah; two daughters, Pam Fandrich from Gilbert, AZ, and Burnell Fandrich from Bismarck, ND; one son, Mark Fandrich from Mesa, AZ; two grandchildren, Alexis (Lexi) Fandrich of Mesa, AZ, and Travis Summers of Kalamazoo, MI; one sister, Mable (Henry) Singer of Glydon, MN; three brothers, Vernon (Lillian), Wayne (Iris), Jerome (Jane) Boeshans; one sister-in-law, Bette Jane Boeshans, all of Beulah; one brother-in-law, Don Kramer of Minneapolis, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Fred Boeshans; her sister; Sylvia Kramer.
