Lloyd Huber Sr

Lloyd T. Huber, Sr., 92, of Hazen, ND passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Monday, November 11, 2019 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Pastor Kirk Peters officiating. Burial will follow at St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Hazen.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CST on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church and will continue one hour prior to the service.

            Lloyd was born on February 13, 1927 in rural Otter Creek, North Dakota to Albert and Hattie (Guenthner) Huber. He was baptized on February 14, 1927 at home. Lloyd attended school in rural Otter Creek. He was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Otter Creek where he also married Emma Gerving on November 14, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The couple farmed in the Otter Creek area and had seven children, Sarah, Pat, Lloyd, Jr., Emilie, Bruce, Dwight and Audrey.

Lloyd and Emma moved to New Salem in 1985 and Lloyd retired from farming in 1987. They later moved to Hazen in 2005. Lloyd served on the Morton County Resources Board for 18 years, on the Springbrook school board and held various positions in the church. His favorite hobby was raising Belgian horses and restoring horse drawn machinery and wagons.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Emma of Hazen; his children, Sarah (Walter) Wolf of Center, Pat (Steve) Bock of Evansville, MN, Lloyd Huber, Jr. of Hazen, Emilie Huber of Billings, MT, Bruce (Diane) Huber of Hazen, Dwight (Sheila) Huber of New Salem and Audrey Huber of Boynton Beach, FL; 15 grandchildren, Martina (Greg) Dvorak, Erika (Ian) Feole, Geoffrey (Libby) Bock, Christopher (Jessica) Bock, Michael (Laura) Huber, Scott (Kristy) Huber, Trevor Huber, Ryan (Holly) Huber, Heather (Ryan) Vigesaa, Nicholas (Melanie) Henke, Melanie (Jeffrey) Fitzgerald, Allison (John) Zabrocki, Cassandra (Monty) Waggoner, Jamison (Kelsey) Huber and Justin (Crystal) Huber; 20 great-grandchildren, Josephine and Issac Dvorak, Henry Bock, Matthew, Amanda and Lane Huber, Kara and Ethan Huber, Mason, Hayden and Liam             Huber, Ella Vigesaa, Rebekah Fitzgerald, Asher and Jasper Zabrocki, Cora and Max Waggoner, Autumn, Nora and Aspen Huber; one sister, Belljean (Tony) Privratsky; one sister-in-law, Esther Gerving-Grosz; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter-in-law, Heidi Huber; his brothers and their wives, Melwon (Ella), Vernon and Arles (Betty); his sister and her husband, Idell (Norman) Albers; and two brothers-in-law and their wives, Henry (Betty) Gerving and Archie Grosz.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
