Mariann Sayler Obituary

Mariann P. Sayler, 89, Beulah, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2018. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Beulah Congregational Church, Beulah, ND with Pastor Frank Sapp officiating. Burial will be held at Beulah City Cemetery, Beulah.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM CDT Friday, at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Mariann was born August 18, 1929 in Jamestown, ND, to Nelson P. King and Edith (Sjoberg) King. She attended school in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1947. She met Wilmer “Bill” Sayler and they married May 31, 1948.

Mariann was involved in many community clubs and activities, some of which were Beulah Women’s Club, Girl Scouts Council Board, and the Congregational Church Friendly Circle. She had a much loved career later in life as a Real Estate Agent for Century 21. Mariann enjoyed the arts, especially music and oil painting. Her early introduction to painting took place when, as a teenager, she worked at her father’s photography studio, hand tinting black and white photographs. Mariann sang in the Women’s Glee Club at UND as a student and with Granny & the Mommas, a local women’s group, when she moved to Beulah.

Mariann had an intense love and pride for her family, with her greatest love and pride being reserved for Bill, her husband of 70 years.

Mariann is survived by her husband, their children; Vicki (Michael) Budde, Mattoon IL,  Mark (Joyce) Sayler, Mandan, ND, Todd (Kimberly) Sayler, Coleharbor, ND, Perry (Debra) Sayler, Beulah, ND, and Miriam (James) Nyland, Jamestown, ND; a sister, Elaine Maxime, Mobile, AL;  10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; countless nieces, nephews; and many special friends.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Friendly Circle at Beulah Congregational Church.

Arrangements conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
