Marvel Miller

Marvel Miller, 90, formerly of Hazen, joined her beloved husband, Oscar Miller, on May 1, 2018. She passed away in Phoenix, AZ, surrounded by family. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT Thursday, May 10, 2018 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Hazen, ND. Burial will follow at St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery, Hazen. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Hazen.

Marvel was born on May 28, 1927 on a farm north of Hazen, North Dakota, to Edward Giesinger and Rose Singer. She attended country school and some high school while helping her parents on the farm.

She married Oscar Miller on November 21, 1946, and they spent many blissful years together until his passing in 2003. She loved to cook and entertain friends and family. It was said if you showed up unexpectedly, she’d have a feast prepared within the hour.

She is survived by her sister, Helen Brew of Manning, ND; sister-in-law, Darlene Giesinger of Minneapolis, MN; children, Edward (Judith) Miller of Steele, ND, Nancyann Miller and Leo Hoepfner of Glendale, AZ, Rose Mary (Mark) Bartunek of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar; sister, Delores Knell; and brother, Lucas Giesinger.
