MATT KRENZEL, 77, of Beulah, passed away on December 2, 2017, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM CST, Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, ND.

Matt was born near Halliday, ND on June 28, 1940, to Anton and Emelia (Weisenberg) Krenzel.  He joined the US Navy in July of 1959 and was honorably discharged in June of 1961.  He met, fell in love and married Laura Langlois and was blessed with a son Donald. He later married Frances Holmes and together they had two children, Ryan Krenzel and Jodi (Krenzel) Gilbert.   Later in life he met Ruby Bauer and they were married on November, 17, 1978.

Matt was employed at North American Coal, Indian Head Mine, Zap and then retired from Dakota Westmoreland.  He was a good welder and also enjoyed leather work.  Matt loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby; two brothers, Jerry (LaVonne) and Jim Krenzel.  He is survived by his three children, Donald (Ellen) Krenzel, Jodi Gilbert (Robert Weinberger) and Ryan Krenzel; his grandchildren, Courtney Krenzel, Sean Scott, and Jaime (Keith) Savikas; along with many brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
