Miles "Okie" Williams, Jr., 59, of Halliday, ND passed away Friday, November 22, 2019. His family will be receiving friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM CST on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.
Okie was born on March 30, 1960 in Plains, MT to Miles and Gladys (Sorenson) Williams, Sr. He spent his childhood around Paradise, MT. Okie was a very talented man. He was a logger and always loved the mountains of Montana. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad and rode bulls on the weekends. He had a love for horses and trained and helped area ranchers. At one point, Okie worked for Verizon setting cell towers. He was also a referee for school sports when he was younger.
Okie was very adept at running heavy equipment and after many years on the road he settled in Halliday, ND. He worked for the Dunn County Road Department as a loader and truck driver.
Okie could tell a good story. He was very caring to others, especially if they were in need of help.
Okie had three children whom he loved deeply, Daniel (Melanie) Williams, Tanya Williams and Juanita (Jason) Fuhrmann; eight grandchildren, Trista, Jonathan, Logan Weston, Samantha Rochelle, Ayden Rose, Laurin Renae, Jaxen Ray and Jade Roystin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Gladys.
