Nancy Lynn (Gullickson) Bornemann

Nancy Lynn (Gullickson) Bornemann, 52, of Hazen, ND, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2019 at Knife River Care Center in Beulah surrounded by her family and friends.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Hazen at with Pastor Kirk Peters officiating.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT on Friday April 12, 2019 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Nancy was born March 30, 1967 in Bowman, ND to Kenny and Alice (Simpfenderfer) Gullickson.   Shortly after her birth the family moved to Dodge, ND where Nancy grew up and went to school.  During Nancy’s school years she always remained very active in basketball and track up until she graduated in 1985.

On June 5, 1999 she married her soulmate, John Neal Bornemann and they built their life in Hazen, ND.  Together they raised five children and always enjoyed chasing their kids around and being active in their lives and activities.  Nancy enjoyed riding motorcycle with Neal, hiking, hunting, reading, and many other outdoor activities.  She also greatly enjoyed horseback riding and horse trading. Nancy was a very social person and loved being surrounded by friends and family, especially her grandchildren. 

Nancy is survived by her husband, John Neal Bornemann and their children, Cody (Corrine) Anderson, Casidie (Trevor) Fladeland, Joshua (Fate) Bornemann, Briar Bornemann, and Scott Bornemann; three grandchildren, Dominique, Devon and Benum; her mother, Alice Tibke; her in-laws, Layton and Jolaine Bornemann; her siblings Dawn “Punky” (Butch) Kruckenburg, Penni Faut, Tom (Deb) Gullickson, Cory (Steph) Gullickson and numerous nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind many great friends, too numerous to mention.

She is preceded in death by her father Kenneth Gullickson, her grandparents, John & Anna Simpfenderfer and Tom & Lena Gullickson and her cousin Danny Simpfenderfer.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
