Patrick Lemer, Sr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Patrick John Lemer, Sr. announces his sudden passing from natural causes on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the age of 51. Services will be held Thursday, September 27 at 10:00 AM CDT at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Hazen with Fr. Basil Atwell and Fr. Kenneth Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin’s Cemetery in Hazen, ND.

Pat and his brother Mike were born on July 16, 1967 in Minot, ND to Tobias and Patty (Held) Lemer. He was the third of seven children. As soon as he was able, Pat worked for their dad’s construction business along with his brothers. Pat is a 1985 graduate of Hazen High School and was a longtime resident of Hazen.

In 2003, Pat became a father to his son Patrick John Lemer II. Pat was extremely proud to be a parent and his son was his pride and joy. During his working career, Pat worked at Coteau Properties and later worked independently doing construction. Pat knew many people and was very likable. Pat made an impression on every person he met. He had a contagious personality and if that didn’t get you, his unforgettable laugh would. Pat often wore a mischievous smile that stuck with everyone he met. He had a very giving spirit and was always willing to help people or listen to them when they needed it. He was very passionate about his faith and his relationship with the Blessed Mother. It was very important to him that his son be raised going to church so that he could develop his own, great relationship with the Lord and Blessed Mother. Pat was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a former member of the Rough Riders Motorcycle Club in Beulah.  Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia, and most importantly spending time with his son. Pat was also an amazing artist. He shared those talents by decorating the banner for the Men’s Cursillo on the years that he attended.

Pat is survived by his son, Patrick Jr, his parents Toby and Patty Lemer of Pick City, ND his brothers, Mike Lemer of Hazen, ND, Dave (Jackie) Lemer of Vale, OR and Bill Lemer of Stanton, ND his sisters, Lisa (Mike) Schwindt of Hazen, ND, Kathy (Rick) Reich of Hazen, ND and Marcie (Shawn) Robinson of Hazen, ND and 17 nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
