Robert Gobar Obituary

Robert M. Gobar, 63, of Hazen, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen, ND.  A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 at Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen, with a service starting at 7:00 PM.

Robert was born on April 20, 1955, in Oakland, CA, to Robert and Jeanne Marie (Bianchini) Gobar.  He was raised in the San Francisco Bay area.  Shortly after graduating from San Lorenzo High School in 1973, Robert enlisted in the Army.  He served as an MP in Germany and the Presidio of San Francisco.  In 1980, Robert graduated from Chabot College with an Associates degree in Administrative Justice.

On February 14, 1991, Robert married Peggy Hatzenbihler in Grand Forks, ND.

Robert worked as a truck driver delivering cargo from coast to coast.  In 2013, Robert accepted the job as a Hazen Bus Driver after 25 years of trucking.  He wasn’t sure about having “cargo that talked”.  He loved it!  He found joy in taking the senior citizens to their appointments and especially taking the children to school and their activities and watching the little ones grow!

Robert is survived by his wife, Peggy of Hazen; brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen and Beulah.
