Robert Earl Sisler, 51, of Beulah ND, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on June 28, 2019 at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen, North Dakota surrounded by his family. Services will be held at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah, ND at 10:00 AM CST, Tuesday, July 2, 2019. Burial will follow at a later date in Mt. Carroll, IL.
Rob was born on December 27, 1967 at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi. He graduated from Westby High School, Westby, MT in 1986 and then joined the Navy and served honorably aboard the USS Biddle guided missile cruiser as a Machinist Mate. He then returned to Westby to work for Soo Line Railroad, and later moved to the New Salem/Beulah area where he worked for Swanson-Youngdale and most recently Brace. He was well liked by his coworkers and they said he was a mentor to many of them. Rob was truly a loving and caring person with a tender-heart, especially for animals. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors, he and Bettina loved taking their dogs to the lake and hiking. They often dreamed of traveling after retirement.
Rob is survived by the love of his life for 18 years, Bettina; his parents, Ron and Myrna Sisler; brother and sister, Guy (Barb) Sisler and Tina (Ted) Nordhagen; nieces, Jessica Sisler and Laura Laurer; nephews, Kris and Matthew Nordhagen, and Ryan and Daniel Sisler along with numerous grandnieces/nephews, cousins, and aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas; his grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Sisler, and Elsie and Earl Mace; uncles Jon Sisler and Donald Mace, aunt Helen Mace and cousin David Mace.
