Thomas Bowers

Thomas “Tom” Bowers, 58, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2019, at his home in Hazen, ND.  A memorial service will be held on Monday May 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM MDT at the Weston County Senior Citizen Center Michaels Room in Newcastle, WY.

Tom was born in Deadwood, SD on November 6, 1960, to Donald and Janice (McCoy) Bowers.  He was raised in Newcastle, WY graduating from Newcastle High School in 1979.  After high school, he went on to trade school in Rapid City, SD graduating in 1980.  Tom went on to spend most of his life working in the agricultural industry.  He was a hard-working guy and loved spraying and fertilizing crops, working at CHS Midwest Cooperatives in Pierre, SD for 20 years until he retired due to health issues.  

During his first marriage Tom adopted his son, Matthew Todd and his daughter, KayLa Dawn was born. He and his daughter shared an undeniable bond from the day she was born.   He later married Melanie Scott and they resided in the Vivian/Pierre, SD area for many years until recently when Tom moved to Hazen, ND to be closer to his daughter.  Tom’s greatest joy was spending time with his daughter and her family and he was a very proud Papa to his grandson.  Tom took pride in being an honest hard-working man and he spent his life instilling those values in his family.    

Tom is survived by his daughter, KayLa (Austin) Lindemann; son, Matt Bowers; grandson, Jase Thomas Lindemann; his mother, Janice (Robert) Boyer; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim (Alexa) Bowers, Todd (Becky) Bowers; niece, Nikki (Aaron) Mudge;  an aunt, numerous cousins and many great friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Donald Bowers, his grandparents, Ralph & Ruby McCoy and Bert & Matilda Bowers, and several aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Spinal Research Foundation.
