Wilbur Medicine Stone, Sr., 57, of Devils Lake, ND, died May 6, 2019, at his home from a long illness. He went to rest with his family by his side. A wake service will begin at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the Twin Buttes Memorial Hall and a funeral service at 10:00 AM CDT, Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Twin Buttes Memorial Hall.
Through the years he made his home at Fort Totten- he met the love of his life, Paula Corbine.
Wilbur enjoyed life and loved his family dearly. He was a member of the Three Clan Knife/Baby Knife.
Wilbur is survived by his partner, Paula Corbine; his children, Wilbur (Tony) Medicine Stone Jr, Mattie (Cody) Merrick, David (Dusty) Medicine Stone, Emmanuel (Elisha) Medicine Stone, Bryce (Kaitlyn) Medicine Stone, Melissa Medicine Stone, Miranda (Nelson) Cavanaugh, Megan Cavanaugh, Denise (Brandon) Bull; all of his loving, precious grandbabies; two brothers, Maynard L. Bear of Twin Buttes and Darcy (Clarice) Medicine Stone of Twin Buttes; and seven sisters, Gwenneth Hostler of Twin Buttes; Kathleen (Lupe) Garza of Dinuba, CA; Marilyn Stone of Twin Buttes; Juanita (Scott) Snow of Bismarck, ND, Colleen (Delmar) Wilson of Twin Buttes, Mavis Medicine Stone of Bismarck and Cheryl Bull of New Rockford, ND; and his godchildren, Allen and Chloe.
Wilbur is preceded in death by his parents, Allan and Mirriam M. Stone; brothers, Wallace, Durwin, Allan Jr., Benny and Calvin Stone; and one sister, Brenda; one son, Fred Medicine Stone; one granddaughter, Aubrey Medicine Stone; maternal grandparents, Rose (Nagel) Fournier and Lawrence Bull; and paternal grandparents, Bessie (High Eagle) Medicine Stone and Medicine Stone; his mother-in-law, Philomene Corbine; his great-grandmother, Mattie Grinnell; his uncle, Ernest (Vivian) Stone; several uncles and aunties as well.
Wilbur will be missed by so many. He always made his trips back to Twin Buttes to visit and had hopes of returning back to Twin Buttes.
