William "Bill" Neas

William G. Neas, 89, of Hazen, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Knife River Care Center, Beulah, ND. A private family service will be held.

William was born on June 5, 1929 to Minnie (Kobs) and William Neas in New Salem, ND. He graduated from New Salem High School and was drafted into the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Korea for a time. Bill went to California after his time in the service and began working as an engineer in the Aeorspace industry. During his time in California, he married Carol Neas in 1981 in San Diego.

William was blessed with two sons, Michael and David. The couple moved back to North Dakota in 1988 and made their home in Bismarck for a year before moving to Almont, ND for several years. They made a permanent home for themselves when they moved to a farmstead south of Hazen, where they lived for 17 years. In 2010, Bill and Carol moved to Hazen where they resided until Bill entered the Knife River Care Center in 2018.

William is survived by his wife, Carol of Hazen; son, Michael Neas of Mesquite, NV; two grandsons, Aaron Neas and Adam Neas of southern California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David; two sisters, LaVerne and Evelyn; and one brother, Howard.
