He attended elementary school at the Twin Buttes Sub Station and elementary school in Cannon Ball.  He attended high school and graduated from Standing Rock High School.  During his high school year’s, Shobe was active in basketball and football.  Throughout his life, Shobe traveled around Indian Country and was a champion “old style” grass dancer and sang at the drums.  Shobe was also a “Twist” and “Bop” dancer at the white dances and boy he sure could dance and drove the girls crazy.

He entered the Army on October 4, 1968 and was honorably discharged on May 11, 1970. During his years of services, commendations of Nation Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Army Commendation Medal was awarded to him.

When he returned home to Twin Buttes, he married June Crows Heart.  Both Shobe and June attended United Tribes Technical College and received their degrees in carpentry.  Shobe also attended Dickinson State College for two years in business. He was active in the Dickinson State Indian Club with their main campaign goal of changing the mascot name from Savages to Blue Hawks.  Shobe also served on the TAT Tribal Election Board.

Shobe and June later would welcome two sons, Albert Boss Little Owl III and Adrian Ross Little Owl.  This marriage was dissolved in a divorce and Shobe moved to the Standing Rock Reservation and then Decatur NE where he lived until his passing.
