Alice Tibke Obituary

Alice Tibke, 82, passed away September 3, 2025, at her home in Beulah with her family near. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah, ND with Pastor Earl Babb officiating.  

Alice was born to John and Anna (Lorenz) Simpfenderfer on November 25, 1942, in Richardton, North Dakota. She attended school at Dodge High School.

Alice was part owner/manager of Ken's Bar in Dodge, then worked as custodian of Dodge School for 3 years. At 37 years old she received her GED and then attended Dickinson State College, receiving her Clerical Certificate in 1981.

In May 1981, she started working for Henry J. Kaiser when construction began on the Great Plains Gasification Plant near Beulah. After construction she worked for the company that is now known as Dakota Gasification Company, owned by Basin Electric Power Cooperative. She worked 15 years at DGC as an administrative assistant, then transferred to the corporate office of Basin Electric in Bismarck working for 5 years as a dispatcher.  She retired in March 2005.

She enjoyed reading, playing cards, bingo and going to the casino with her best friend/cousin Maxine Evenson.

She was married to Kenneth Gullickson for 21 years and blessed with five children: Dawn (Orland) Kruckenberg, Penni Faut, Tom (Deb) Gullickson, Nancy(deceased) (Neal) Bornemann and Cory (Stephanie) Gullickson; 17 grandchildren: Brandon and Jami (Shelby) Kruckenberg, Danielle (Levi) Lund, Nikki and Kayla Faut, Coltt and Chelsi Gullickson, Ashley (Brett) Stillwell, Jessica Eastgate, Cody (Corine) Anderson, Casidie Fladeland,  Joshua, Scott and Briar Bornemann, Dillon, Madison and Taylor Gullickson; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Alice was married several times and was blessed with lovely stepchildren in all the married unions.

Preceding her in death are her parents, John and Anna Simpfenderfer, daughter Nancy, brother Ray Simpfenderfer,  nephew Danny Simpfenderfer and her beloved companion of 16 years her fur baby, Bitsy.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
