Obituary

Anita (Bauer) Flemmer, 90, of Beulah, passed away Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Knife River Care Center, Beulah, ND. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT, Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah, ND, with Rev. Toby Heller officiating. Burial will follow at the Beulah City Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Anita was born on September 4, 1932, in Oliver County to William and Lea (Bauer) Bauer.  She was the eighth of 10 children. She was baptized and confirmed at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Otter Creek. She married Milton Flemmer on March 1, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem, ND. They raised their five children on the Flemmer homestead south of Beulah, then moved to Beulah in 1971.  Milton passed away in June of 1998. Anita moved to a condo in Beulah where she enjoyed her “condo ladies coffee” group where they played cards and games, which she took pretty serious and didn’t like to lose. She also enjoyed needlework until her eyesight declined.

Into her 70s, Anita worked at the thrift store. She enjoyed bringing home items she thought her kids should find homes for. Anita was a great homemaker, cook and baker. All of her family learned so much from her. In March 2020, she moved to Senior Suites in Hazen until May of 2022 when she entered the Knife River Care Center.

She is survived by her five children, Sandi (Larry) Schnaidt and Lorie (Larry) Steffen, both of Beulah, Bonnie (Mike) Haupt of Bismarck, Stan (Ginger) Flemmer, of Valley City, and Larry (Kathy) Flemmer of Mandan; her grandchildren, Stacy and Wade Boeshans, Kelly (Talitha) Schnaidt, Misti Hartlieb, Angie (Jason) Erickson, Scott (Amber) Steffen, Jeff Haupt, Bill Haupt, Ashley (Matt) Hartman, Carter (Katrina) Flemmer, Brady Flemmer, Brandi Flemmer, Maddi Flemmer, Kasey Rafferty, Kayla (Brandon) Wald; 18 great-grandchildren; her brother, Arlois (Eunice) Bauer of Oregon; her sister, Janice (Norman) Eggers of Arizona.

Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents; her grandson, Jackson Schnaidt; one granddaught-in-law, Jamie Haupt; two great-grandchildren, Jada Schnaidt and Fred Boeshans; her mother & father-in-law, Phillip and Freda Flemmer; brothers, Edgar Bauer, Marvin Bauer and Lloyd Bauer; sisters, Verona Breimeier, Ruth Gray, Doris Keller and Berniece Adolf; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
