Anna Sannes of Donna, Texas (formerly of Kulm, ND) passed away on October 9, 2025, in Hazen, North Dakota, at the age of 65 after a brief battle with cancer. Services will be held at the Kulm Congregational Church, Kulm, ND on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 2:00 pm. A memorial celebration will also be held at Bit-O-Heaven RV Park in Donna, Texas on October 20, 2025, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM CT.
Anna was born on November 1, 1959 in Britton, South Dakota to Robert “Bill” and Barbara Pitkin.
She is remembered by her husband, Mike Sannes of Donna, TX; her children Amanda (Jon) Oberlander of Hazen, ND, and Bob (Heather) Klettke of Fargo, ND; and her beloved grandson Jonathan “JJ” Oberlander. She also leaves behind her sisters, and her nieces and nephews. Her loyal (and only slightly spoiled) dog, Toby, was her companion to the end.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Anna enjoyed cooking, baking, and decorating. She took joy in making holidays and events extra special. Her most prized title was being JJ’s “Red Car Grammy,” and every holiday warranted a card from her.
Anna was a woman who enjoyed the “finer things” in life, like a Crunchwrap Supreme and a good rummage sale find. She made the best potato salad, loved giving gifts, and left not a single episode of NCIS unwatched. She was known to enjoy a friendly game of dominoes or Sequence. Her family will remember her every time they smell Lady Stetson cologne or see a turtle knick-knack.
Anna’s friends and family are grateful for 65 years of cherished memories. Love you to the moon and back.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
