Archie Rosenow Obituary

Archie Paul Rosenow died peacefully on January 27, 2023, after a brief illness.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Salem United Methodist Church, Hazen with Pastor Kay Asche officiating. Burial will follow at Hazen City Cemetery, Hazen, ND.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Arch was born in Hazen, ND on June 20, 1956 to Walter and Lavonne Rosenow.  He was the last of six children, and always his mother's baby boy.  He graduated from Hazen High School in 1974.  He left home thereafter to work on draglines in Illinois.  There he met the love of his life, Luanne Capron.  They married in Farmington, IL on August 6, 1976, and shortly after returned to North Dakota to settle and start their family.

Arch and Luanne welcomed their son Aaron in 1979 and daughter Audra followed in 1985.  Arch began working for Basin Electric Antelope Valley Station in 1983 and retired after 33 years of service.  He was well respected in his profession and a hard worker. His co-workers became life-long friends.

Arch was deeply in love with Hot Rods and most of his spare time was dedicated to the hobby.  He was a charter member of the North Dakota Street Rod Association, and a founding member of the Early Iron Rodders.  He loved spending time in his shop working on projects and solving the world's problems with any of a number of frequent visitors.  His favorite finished street rod was his 1930 Model A coupe.

Arch's family was his pride and joy.  Arch and Lu were a team and loved to travel and laugh together.  He frequently said Lu was the only person that kept him in line.  Later in life, Grandpa became his favorite title and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren one on one and attending their events. He was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church.  His faith was strong and shared with those around him.

Arch is survived by his son Aaron (Anne) Rosenow, grandchildren Hudson and Delaney, his daughter Audra (Brian) Willis, grandchildren Asher and Rowan, one brother, Barry (Peggy) Voeltz; two sisters, Jan (Paul) George, LuAnn (Jeff) Lee; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Luanne Rosenow, his parents Walter and LaVonne Rosenow, sister and brother-in-law Hope and Jim Wiedrich, sister, Ferne Richardson, a niece Brooke, and a nephew Zach.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
