Audrey Bethke Obituary

Audrey L. Bethke, 93, New Salem, passed on November 01, 2023 at Sanford in Bismarck.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM CST on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Sims Lutheran Church with Pastor Dodd officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in the Bethel Cemetery.

Audrey was born, January 14, 1930 at the Sim's homestead, to Martin and Tilda (Jacobson) Willman, the youngest of ten children. She was educated in Almont and graduated from Almont high school, attended a semester of college at Dickinson State, and taught at a one-room country school after that.

On September 29, 1948, Audrey was united in marriage to Archie Bethke at Sim's Lutheran church.

Together, they farmed on the homestead south of New Salem until moving to Wisconsin in 1964 returning to the farm in 1975.

Audrey is survived by her children: Rita and son-in-law Larry Silbernagel, Bismarck, Larry Bethke, Mandan, Sheila Bethke, Manitowoc, Wi; grandchildren: Ross and Shane Van Ess, Andy and Lynn Bethke, Erik Johnson and Anissa Johnson-Hicks; great grandchildren: Monica Douglas, Nicholas Van Ess and Talon Van Ess.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers: Elmer, Oscar, Ralph (Hazel), Edward (Noreen), sisters: Grace (Carl) Thor, Lillian (Leo) Schneider, Margaret (Clarence) Thor, Ruth (Orval) Olin, and Joyce (Sven) Johnsen.

Memorials may be made to the Bethel cemetery fund.
