Audrey Erickson Obituary

Audrey Irene Erickson, 77 of Beulah, died unexpectedly December 26, 2022 surrounded by people that love her.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Beulah with Fr. Tom Grafsgaard officiating.  Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, south of Beulah.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a wake service starting at 6:00 PM.

Audrey was born September 13, 1945 the youngest of four daughters to Emil and Irene (Dolan) Albers. She was raised and educated in Hazen, ND.  She was baptized on September 30, 1945 at St. Martin Catholic Church, Hazen, ND. On August 18, 1962, she married Delmar Erickson. When they were first married she and Delmar lived in the country south of Hazen and did not even have running water to care for their little boys and milk cows.

In 1966 they moved to the ranch south of Beulah where she and Delmar made their home.  She resided there until the time of her death. Together they farmed and ranched and raised five children.  Audrey often said she wouldn’t want to live in town, she loved the country, and her yard was a beautiful place.

Delmar and Audrey became partners at Stockmen’s Livestock in Beulah and Dickinson in the early 1970’s until 2006. They also owned and operated Erick-Son Auction. Audrey spent many days traveling and attending her children and grandchildren’s rodeos and events.  Audrey and Gayle were known to load all the kids up and go traveling with the camper. The kids have stories to tell!

Her children-in-law will always tell you they had the best mother-in-law. She always made sure her family knew they were loved, and everyone was always welcome in her home. To meet Audrey was to know what it felt like to be loved by her. She was unforgettable; whether she left her mark on you through her sense of humor, hugs, or special goodies. She was “Nan” to everyone, not only her family.

Audrey is survived by her children, Joseph and Catherine Erickson, James and Renee Erickson, Jason and Angie Erickson, and Jennifer and Douglas Moore; her grandchildren, Joseph and Danielle Erickson, Jeffrey Clary, Courtney and Corey Haugo, Britani and Zachery Keller, Josey and Evan Armbrust, Levi (Taylor) Erickson, Tyrel Erickson, Cassidy (Keith) Schutt, Caitlyn and Thomas Kuhn, Lexi Erickson and Dalee Moore; great-grandchildren, Mystic and Delmar Erickson, Logan, Gemma, and Geles Keller, Avery Armbrust and Kashis Erickson.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Norman Kessler; numerous nieces and nephews. Special friends (aka: partners in crime) Gayle Erdman and Barb Kessler. She also loved her special puppy, Sprout.

She was preceded in death by her husband Delmar; son, Jeffrey; her parents; Delmar’s parents, Archie and Emma Erickson; her sisters, Rosetta Weigum and Kathy Kessler; sister and brother-in-law, Colletta and Robert Stroup; nephews, Kevin Weigum and Christopher Stroup.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sakakawea Hospice and WARC of Beulah.
