Barbara Helen (Miller) Kusmenko

Barbara Kusmenko, 67, died peacefully on November 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with brain cancer.   She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Services will be held at 1:00 PM CST on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Prairie View Church of God, Beulah, ND with Pastor Justin Countryman officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CST on Tuesday, November 23 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Barb was born on August 3, 1954 to Edwin and Esther Miller.  She graduated from Dodge High school in 1972 as Valedictorian of her class and soon married her loving husband, Calvin, of 49 years on July 21, 1972.  Together they farmed north of Zap and had two children Jason and Jody.

Barb was active in many activities.  She worked at Knife River Veterinary Clinic for nearly 30 years and was an active member at Prairie View Church of God.  She took great joy caring for others, baking for fundraisers, cooking for her family and church and teaching Sunday school.  Barb loved the outdoors and spent hours in her flower beds and gardens.

Barb survived by her husband, Calvin: son, Jason (Liza) Kusmenko of Zap, ND, daughter, Jody (Chris) Bauer of Bismarck, ND, four grandchildren, Lucas Bauer, Claire Bauer, Charlotte Bauer, Nicholai Kusmenko, father, Edwin Miller of Hazen, ND, sister, Connie (Kevin Ridl) Monson, brother Marvin (Wendy) Miller, and many nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Miller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bismarck Cancer Center, Sakakawea Hospice and KNDR.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
