Betty J (Riedemann) Kuhn

Betty Kuhn, 81, of Beulah, ND passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM CST on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah. Due to Covid-19, masking will be required.

A private family funeral service will be held. Burial will take place at Beulah City Cemetery, Beulah.

Betty was born on March 2, 1939 to Ernest and Ella (Krieger) Riedemann south of Hazen on the family farm. She attended school in New Salem, ND. Betty married Henry Kuhn on December 2, 1957 and the couple moved to Beulah in 1965. They built a home in 1968 and resided there until 2016. Betty and Henry had two children, Connie and Brent.

Betty worked as a cook at the Greystone Hotel in Beulah for several years. She was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for many years. Betty also worked on the election board for 20+ years. Henry retired from Knife River Coal in 1993 which allowed he and Betty to travel. They enjoyed trips to Arizona, Oregon, Branson and Montana. Betty also enjoyed baking, cooking, canning and hosting card parties. She would host them for birthdays, holidays or any occasion.

Betty moved to Mandan in January 2019 and lived at Miller Pointe until her passing.

Betty is survived by her children, Connie (Nick) Jensen of Bristol, SD and Brent (Terell) Kuhn of Woodland Park, CO; two grandchildren, John and Hannah of Bristol, SD; two brothers, Jim (Beverly) Riedemann of Center, ND and Randy (Sandy) Riedemann of Hazen, ND; two brothers-in-law, Pete (Donna) Kuhn of Bismarck and Glenn Cassidy of Arizona; one sister-in-law, Rosella Kuhn of Mandan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Henry, who passed in 2012.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church.

            Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
