Bruce Kessler Obituary

Bruce Alan Kessler, 59, of Beulah, passed away on December 26, 2018 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Beulah Congregational Church, Beulah, ND with Pastor Frank Sapp officiating. Burial will follow at the Gluechstahl Cemetery south of Beulah.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 PM CST on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

On October 30, 1959, Bruce was born in Richardton, ND to his parents Calvin and Jeannette (Kraenzel) Kessler. He grew up south of Beulah on the family farm, ranching and farming and carrying out the family traditions with his parents and five siblings. Bruce attended Liberty Farm School for two years and graduated from Beulah High School in 1978. During and after high school, Bruce, was lead singer and bass guitarist for a band named Full House.

Bruce started working for Beulah Lumber until he pursued his dreams as a contractor owning Kessler Construction. He married Sharon Morris, of Bismarck, and they moved to Sacramento, CA, where they had three sons. He worked as a Union Carpenter with Local 46 in Sacramento. He helped build Arco Arena and remodel the Folsom State Prison.

Bruce then met and married Dianne Favichia. He continued his dreams of being self-employed, which took them to Arkansas, where he loved the southern weather. Bruce took a job opportunity as the head of sales representative at Lowes. This job brought him a chance to move to Wisconsin and continue to work for Lowes. Sadly, his wife of 20 years, Dianne, passed away in November of 2014. Shortly after, Bruce moved back to Beulah for a fresh start. He went back to work for Beulah Lumber and was an independent contractor as well.

Bruce met Joyce Benton, proposed, and followed his love to Louisiana to be closer to her and her family. They started a contracting business together and loved to travel and see new things.

Bruce loved spending time with his family, sons, and grandson. He was a very passionate man full of adventure and charisma. He always had the perfect story to relate to life experiences. Bruce always had useful advice and a huge caring heart. He enjoyed oldies music, fishing, and being outdoors. If he had any free time you could see him spending it with his hair rippling in the air on his purple Harley, Bella.

Bruce is survived by his three sons, Jessie (Ashley) of Arkansas, Jacob (TreAna Horner) of Bismarck, ND, and Jamey of Bismarck, ND; a grandson, Jaydyn Kessler of Bismarck, ND; fiancée, Joyce Benton of Louisiana; mother, Jeannette Kessler of Beulah, ND; siblings, John (Kaylen) Kessler, Karen (Daryl) Huber, Kristi (Bill) D’Amato, Keith (Deanna) Kessler, and Paul (Heather) Kessler; stepchildren, Treena Manion, Donna, Richard, Tina and Gena Gresio, Danielle Jmel; several step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne; his father, Calvin Kessler; his grandparents, John and Anna Kessler and Gustav and Annie Kraenzel.
