Clara (Jose) Dschaak Bieber, 99, of Beulah, formerly of Zap, ND, passed away, Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Beulah Congregational Church with Pastor Istvan Vasarhelyi officiating. Burial will be held at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Zap, ND.
Clara was born May 7, 1922 to Henry Jose and Christina (Heberle) Jose. Clara had three bothers and one sister, Carl Jose of Bismarck, ND, Ben Jose of Beulah, ND, and Rudy Jose of Helena, Mt. and Louise Jose. Clara’s mother passed way when Clara was two years old. With Clara’s dad out working, home chores and cooking was left up to Carl. When the boys were old enough to leave home, they found jobs in the area and Clara and her sister did the same. Being the youngest, Clara went to foster homes to work for families, which provided her a home. Clara met Fritz (Fred), dating for a short time then getting married on September 25, 1936. They lived in Montana for a short time then moving back to Zap, ND. Fred and Clara had three boys and one daughter, Leo, Bennie, Jim, and Bernadine. Fred and Clara and family spent some summer months in Pick City, ND while Fred worked on the Garrison Dam. Later, Fred and Clara started to work at Zap Public School doing janitorial work. Fred passed away December 5, 1977. Clara continued to work at school cleaning and cooking. Clara moved to Beulah, ND and began working as a cook providing meals for construction worker building the plant north of Beulah. Clara met Art Bieber through church functions and later were married on June 18, 1983. Clara moved to Bieber homestead South of Zap. Clara enjoyed the farming life and being around the Bieber family. Clara’s new family included Gerald and Connie, Ralph and Rennet, and Doug. When Art passed away on Oct 1, 1998 Clara moved to Beulah into Leo Dschaak’s house that she lived in until she passed away. Clara loved gardening, church and Bible studies and visiting neighbors. Clara was always excited when company came and company never left without having something to eat.
Clara is survived by her children, Leo Dschaak of Beulah, Bennie Dschaak of Zap, Jim and Beryl Dschaak of Colorado, Bernadine and Terry Preabt of Bismarck, Gerald and Connie Bieber of Beulah, Ralph and Renet Bieber of Zap, Doug Bieber of Fargo; her grandchildren, Julie Dschaak of Beulah, Jacque (Phil) Hoth of Mesquite, NV, Jamie Dschaak of Craig, CO, Ryan Preabt of Bismarck, Aaron (Kim) Preabt of Bismarck; 31 great and great-great-grandchildren; four nephews; and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Fred; her husband, Art; her daughter-in-law, Carmen Dschaak; her granddaughter, Sharmain Dschaak; three brothers; and one sister.
