Clarence was born on August 6 (or 7), 1937, to Julius and Anna (Sailer) Sayler in Hebron, ND. Clarence was the youngest of six children. He completed his education through the ninth grade at Hebron Public School and was confirmed at Hebron Congregational Church. In 1973, Clarence deepened his spiritual journey through water baptism, which marked a significant turning point in his relationship with Jesus.
Clarence met the woman of his dreams while cruising Main Street in Beulah. He and Rosella Boeckel were united in marriage September 25, 1959, at the Church of God in Beulah. They established a home in Hebron where Clarence worked at the Lumber Yard. Here they welcomed three sons and a daughter. In May of 1970, they relocated to a farm North of Zap where Clarence farmed. He lived there until he entered the Knife River Care Center in February of 2022. He was a member of the Beulah Church of God where he served on the church board and sang in the choir. Clarence was well known for his Christmas sacks that he proudly gave all the kids after the church's Christmas program. He was also an avid fan of any sport his sons and grandsons played and attended numerous ball games. Additional places you could find Clarence were, an auction sale within a 60 mile radius, Tri County Implement - John Deere Days with a grandson, fishing with family, hunting with his sons and grandsons or sitting beside Beulah Drug waiting for Rosella’s lunch break so that she could buy him lunch. Clarence cherished spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed playing SkipBo with friends.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 65 ½ years, Rosella; three sons, Michael (Lora) Sayler, Calvin (Patience) Sayler, and Duane (Karla) Sayler; one daughter, Rachelle Hauser; 11 grandchildren, Tedra Sayler and Torey Sayler, Joshua (Ciri) Sayler, Elizabeth (Caleb) Wunderlich, and Samuel (Joy) Sayler, Ryan (Sarah) Sayler and Mickal (Timothy) Schwartz, Zachary (Hayle) Hauser, Quentin (Leann) Hauser, Olivia Hauser and Kolby Hauser; 12 great-grandchildren; his brother in law, Donald (Carol) Boeckel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Waldmore Sayler, Adolph Sayler, Paul Sayler, Walter Sayler and Esther Zinnel; and one grandson, Chauncey Sayler.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
