Clayton was born in Beulah on October 7, 1945 to Dave and Sophie Boeckel (Wittmaier). He attended a country school until the 8th grade and then started working on the family farm. On November 9, 1963, he married his best friend Diane, of 61 years. Together they started their family farm and ranch with eight Black Angus cows, four dairy cows, two hogs and a handful of chickens. Soon Clayton and Diane would be the proud parents of 4 children; Randy, Stacey, Kelly & Bradley. Eventually they were blessed with 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Clayton would always say how GOD blessed him with such a wonderful family. Clayton continued his passion for Black Angus cattle right up until Jesus called him home. Every calf crop he would say “These are the best I ever raised, WHOOSH!!”
