Cory E Stern

Cory Edwin Stern, 47, of Halliday, ND passed away suddenly on Monday, February 19, 2024 on the family farm. Services will be held at 10:00 AM MST/11:00 AM CST on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Halliday Assembly of God with Pastor Barry Van Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Halliday. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Cory was born on November 12, 1976 to Gary and Sandra (Erdmann) Stern in Dickinson, ND. He attended Halliday Public School and graduated in 1995. On September 8, 2009 Cory and Mikki welcomed their first son, Allen, who tragically passed away on September 13, 2009. They then welcomed Cory, Jr. on September 7, 2010 and Khloe on July 26, 2013. Cory was also a stepdad to Mikki’s son, Durwin Alcon. Cory’s children were his whole world and he loved them dearly. Cory worked his whole life on the family farm alongside his dad, Gary, who passed away in 2019. Together they shared a love of International tractors and were both skilled in repairing broken down farm equipment. Cory enjoyed working with cattle and driving the four-wheeler, side by side, and his blue Ford pickup. He also liked watching football and loved his dogs, Tobi and Gem. Cory, we all love you and we will miss you every day. You will never be forgotten. You were an amazing father, uncle, brother and friend. We know you are in Heaven with mom and dad (grandma and grandpa) and your son, Allen. We know you are watching over us. Cory, we promise to take care of CJ and Khloe and the family farm! Cory is survived by his son, Cory, Jr. and daughter, Khloe; his sister, Jenna (Philip Gustafson) Stern; nieces, Jaelyn and Kaylee; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Allen; his parents, Gary and Sandy Stern; and his grandparents, Edwin & Hilda Stern and Sam & Dorothy Erdmann. Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
