Dallas Wolf Obituary

Dallas Gene Wolf, 80, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, surrounded by his family at Knife River Care Center in Beulah, North Dakota, a place he truly loved. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CT on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah with Fr. Thomas Grafsgaard officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Dallas was born on April 7, 1946, in Hazen, North Dakota, to Ernest and Ida (Pfennig) Wolf. He grew up on the family farm near Zap and graduated from Zap High School in 1964. In 1970, he married Dianne (Johnson) Wolf. Together they built a family and shared many years of memories.

Following high school, Dallas began his career as a heavy equipment operator for Oster Construction in Hazen, where he worked until 1971. He later worked at Indian Head Mine and went on to serve as a Union Representative for the United Mine Workers of America until his retirement.

Dallas was known for cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and somehow convincing all nine of his children to do the same. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, and just about any adventure that came his way. His commitment to public service included serving as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1984 and as Mayor of Opal, Wyoming. He never met a stranger and had a gift for connecting with people wherever he went.

Most of all, Dallas loved his family. He was incredibly proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, lending a hand, or making people laugh, he made sure those around him knew they were loved. His greatest joy came from creating memories with his family.

Dallas is survived by his children, Stacey (Jason) Stanfill of Glendive, Montana; Jennifer Wolf; Susan Wolf (Cory Bischoff) of Fargo, North Dakota; Jacqueline (Tom) Slininger of Moline, Illinois; Clint (Amy) Wolf of Santee, California; Dustin (Amber) Wolf of Troutdale, Oregon; and Amanda Wolf of Bismarck, North Dakota; his grandchildren, Hailey Stanfill, Michael Torrez, Sydney Bischoff, Kayley Bischoff, Everett Broberg, Morgan Slinginger, Madison Slininger, Jordan Olsen, Jacob Helbing, Emma McLellen, Miah Moore, Gavyn Wolf, Grayson Wolf, Brianna Wolf, Priscilla Leveque, Vanessa Ferandez, Ryan Wolf, Ingrid Bjerkness, and Olaf Bjerkness; his great-grandchildren, Faith, Teagan, Grace, Chloe, Brycen, Max, Quinton, Elias, and Arya and his siblings, Larry (Lilly) Wolf, Marilyn Beck, and Lonnie (Terry) Unruh.

He was preceded in death by his children, Wendy McLellen and Daniel Wolf; his brother, Perry Wolf; his brother-in-law, Wayne Beck; his parents, Ernest and Ida Wolf; his grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.

Dallas will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his love for his family, his dedication to serving others, and the lasting impact he made on the many lives he touched. His stories, laughter, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
