Darlene Bauman Obituary

Darlene L. Bauman, 86, of Golden Valley, ND passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, ND. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CT on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Golotha Lutheran Church, Golden Valley, with Pastor J. Scott Pierson officiating. Burial will follow at Golgotha Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM CT on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Darlene Lillian Bauman was born June 7, 1939, at the Fisher farm south of Halliday, ND. She was the second of six children to George and Cora (Reum) Fisher. She attended grade school in the country, one mile from home, and graduated from Halliday High School in 1956. She attended Bismarck Junior College for two years. While going to college, she worked for the County Extension Services and North Dakota Highway Patrol Office.

On June 22, 1958, she married the love of her life, Loren Bauman. They lived on the Bauman family farm north of Golden Valley and farmed and ranched together for 67 years.

Family was one of Darlene’s biggest passions, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Whether it was playing games or attending school activities, she never gave up an opportunity for cherished time with family. She loved having happy hour on their deck, talking about the day and sharing her special crackers and honey cookies. She enjoyed visiting and spending time with many dear friends. Darlene’s strong faith in the Lord saw her through life’s joys and trials.

She was an active member of Golgotha Lutheran Church where she served on a variety of committees. She served on many boards including Mercer, Oliver and Sheridan County Social Services, Beulah Knife River Care Center, Lutheran Social Services, Golden Valley Homemakers and Community Club.

On July 27, 2025, surrounded by family, Darlene entered into Eternal Life with her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Loren, of Golden Valley; three children, Lorinda (Wayne) Jahner of Goodyear, AZ, Cindy (Jeff) Helling and Delon (Charlene) Bauman both of Golden Valley; seven grandchildren, Kristen Bosch (Kyle Zittleman), Travis (Chelsey) Bosch, Casey (Rachel) Helling, Heidi (Mike) Moos, Jessica (Alex) Wald, Jordan (Clancy) Bauman, and Ty (Nicole) Bauman; 20 great-grandchildren, Taylor (Kaitlyn) Bosch, Brayden and Skyler Wolff, Ryker, Briella and Titus Wagner, Kail and Garrett Bosch, Kambree and Gauge Moos, Bentley, McKoy, Stetson and Brekka Wald, Denny, Tel and Tru Bauman, Chaney and Paden Bauman; one great-great-granddaughter, Evelyn Bosch; eight step-grandchildren, Kari, Michael, Kelly, Daniel, Isiah, Orion and N’Keal Jahner, and Charli Zittleman; two sisters, Donna Froelich and Georgia (Albert) Schulz; two brothers, Alton (Edie) Fisher, Dennis (Brenda) Fisher; one sister-in-law, Corrine Fisher; one brother-in-law, Gerald (Darlene) Bauman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; parents-in-law, Albert and Pauline Bauman; stepmother-in-law, Martha Bauman; brother, Dale Fisher; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eunice and Gerald Weisenberger; brother-in-law, Fred Froelich; and many loved ones.

May blessed memories of Darlene remain among her family and many friends, whom she dearly loved.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ronald McDonald House.
