Dennis Bauer, 78, of Beulah, ND died peacefully on November 19, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen ND. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM CT at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with Pastor Kathleen Nygaard officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah City Cemetery and the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah ND
Dennis was born in Zap, ND on June 3, 1947, the twelfth born out of 13 children to Otto and Ella (Brunmeier) Bauer. Dennis was baptized into Christ on June 25, 1947 and confirmed on June 23, 1963. On April 14, 1967 he married his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon (Sackman) Bauer, at Zion Lutheran Church. Dennis was employed with Indian Head Mine, Zap, ND. When the mine shut down, he became employed for the City of Beulah. If you couldn’t find Dennis, you could always find him in his garage tinkering, fixing, visiting, and so much more. Dennis was always known to joke around and give others a hard time, but that’s how you knew he loved you. Dennis adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were his pride and joy and light of his life.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Sharon; son & daughter-in-law, Scott & Dawn Bauer, Bismarck, ND; daughter & son-in-law, Casey & Amber Ost, Beulah, ND; six grandchildren, Courtney (Ryan) Thorberg, Benson, MN; McCoy (Lexi) Bauer, Bismarck, ND; Morgan Bauer (Dalton Dockter), Bismarck, ND; Hadley, Cashton, Everlee Ost, Beulah, ND; & three great-grandsons, Brendy Thorberg, Benson, MN; Maverick Bauer, Bismarck, ND; & Bodhi Dockter, Bismarck, ND; a brother & sister-in-law, Clyde (Anita) Bauer, Poplar, MT; a sister & brother-in-law, (Jack) & Linda Macdonald, Santa Cruz, CA.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto & Ella (Brunmeier) Bauer; six sisters, Marion Sandau, Loretta Baszler, Leila Caywood, Lora Wiedrick, Betty Hausauer, Stella Gramm; and four brothers, Baby Boy, Lester, Lloyd, and Robert Bauer.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
