Diann K (Frey) Miiller

Diann Miiller, 76, departed her earthly home Sat Feb 1, 2025 after a short illness. The service celebrating Diann's life will be held on Friday February 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM CT at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hazen with Pastor Kirk Peters officiating.

Visitation will be held at Barbot Funeral Home in Beulah on Thursday, February 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CT.

Diann Miiller, 76, departed her earthly home Sat Feb 1, 2025 after a short illness. Diann was born in Harvey, ND on March 19, 1948, the second child to John and Elsie Frey. The family lived outside Martin. They moved to Velva where John worked as a Mechanic and Elsie worked in a restaurant. The family then moved to Harvey where John continued to work as a mechanic and Elsie worked as a cook in the hospital kitchen. Diann graduated from Harvey High School. She studied nursing for 1 year in Minot before marrying Lloyd Miller of Annamoose. Lloyd was in the Marine Corps, between his training at Camp Pendelton and being stationed at Cherry Point, NC. The couple were married on July 2, 1968. Diann worked at Clarks department store until she became pregnant with their first child. Diann moved back to Harvey where Renee was born in 1970. Lloyd was then deployed to Vietnam. When Lloyd returned and got out of the Marines they moved to Denhoff where Lloyd worked on the canal, then McClusky, then to Turtle Lake where their second child, Jenny, was born in 1974.  They then moved back to McClusky and Lloyd started working at the mine near Stanton. In 1976 they moved to Hazen. Their third child, Glenn, was born in Bismarck in 1979.  Diann loved her role as homemaker taking care of the house and raising 3 children. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was an avid reader. She went to work in the High School kitchen for several years once Glenn was in High School. She worked there until her health started to decline and she retired. Diann suffered from several chronic illnesses, but these did not prevent her from visiting with her grandchildren as often as she could. Diann was active in her church, St. Matthew Lutheran, helping with Vacation Bible School, serving in the kitchen ministry, as a part of the prayer chain and with the LWML. She enjoyed working with the Braile ministry which later became the Large Print ministry. She made many crocheted blankets with a group of women and donated them to Covers for Kids.

She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, daughter Renee, sister Julie, sister-in-law Melorie and brothers-in-law Arlen and Bob. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; daughter, Jenny Mohl (Steve), Boonsboro, MD; son, Glenn Miiller (Lindsay), Fargo, ND; brother Curtis Frey, Harvey; grandchildren, Dawn, Jordan, Joshua, Hazel and Felix and multiple nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
