Eileen (Krause) Mund

Eileen Kay Mund, 73, of Hazen, ND passed away Monday, November 1, 2021 at Knife River Care Center, Beulah. Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen with Pastor Mark Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT on Sunday, November 7 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Eileen was born in Bismarck, ND on April 21, 1948, the daughter of Edwin and Pauline (Rahn) Krause. She was raised and educated in Carson, ND. After graduation, Eileen worked at the family grocery store. On May 5, 1972, she married Arnold “Arnie” Mund. The couple made their home in Bismarck and Jackson, MN until moving to Hazen in 1978.

Eileen worked various jobs in her life. She was employed at Arrowhead Ace Hardware, Montgomery Ward and had a home daycare business while living in Bismarck. When she and Arnie moved to Hazen, Eileen spent many years raising their children. When they got older, she went to work at Senior Suites and retired from Sakakawea Medical Center in 2013.

Eileen was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing in a pinochle club with many friends and loved playing Bunko with the Bunko ladies. Eileen also enjoyed golfing on ladies night.

Eileen is survived by her husband of 49 years, Arnie of Hazen; her children, Darren (Nicole) Mund and Amber (Ben) Nelson, all of Hazen; her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Grace, Faith and Trinity Nelson and Liam, Lochlynn and Shanley Flowers; her brother, Dalles (Marilyn) Krause, her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Janice Mund and Alberta “Dolly” Arnold, Donald (Virgina) Mund, Harold (Nancy) Mund Ervin (Karen) Mund and David Andert; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother- and father-in-law; her sister and brother-in-law, Iris (Bob) Lauf; her sister-in-law, Lulu “Sis” Andert; her niece, Joan Deal; and numerous aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Knife River Care Center, Beulah.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
