Obituary

Elaine Marie Holm Foth, 62, found peace on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Surrounded by light, Elaine is now reunited with her late husband, and love of her life, Kenny. Friends and family of Elaine’s are invited to celebrate and honor her life at 1:00 PM CDT on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Beulah with Pastor Kent Sperry officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CDT on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah.

Elaine was born on September 10, 1959, in Valley City, N.D., to Lawrence and LaVonne (Larson) Holm. Elaine was the youngest of five children, self-proclaimed the “spoiled” one of the family but carried the most spunk. Her dad recognized she could handle any piece of equipment to help get any job done. She was a true tomboy and a sportswoman at heart; Elaine loved to hunt, fish, trap and race snowmobiles. Her cooking and baking skills, on the other hand…

Elaine grew up on the family farm and graduated from Fingal High School in 1977. She attended North Dakota State School of Science for secretarial studies. Elaine married Kenny on June 9, 1978.

Later that summer, Elaine secured a job with Candee Construction alongside her husband operating heavy equipment. The job led them to live and work across several states including Minnesota, Montana, Washington and eventually North Dakota. In 1984, Kenny landed a job at North American Coal, where Elaine and Kenny found their forever residence in Beulah.

On July 1, 1989, Elaine and Kenny welcomed a son, Dalen “Jasper”, who kept her busy with his sport activities through the years. Dalen married Brandi, and together they blessed her with the two greatest gifts of all, granddaughter Aria Kenni and a new grandson, arriving in August.

Beulah is where Elaine celebrated her 40-year serving career, holding positions at the Horseshoe, the Eagles Club, the Southside Diner, the Country Kettle, among others. Elaine was the epitome of grit, grace and good humor, traits reflected in her personality both professionally and personally. With a razor-sharp memory, Elaine was hardworking, resilient and never stopped hustling. Her loyal customers knew better than to complain about the food or her service, nor did they need to. She was a charter member and a strong supporter of the Sunshine Club.

Elaine’s greatest passion in life was people. A stranger to no one, Elaine’s favorite moments were centered around good company sharing memories and never-ending laughter. Elaine always enjoyed hosting friends and family at her lakeside home.

Over the years, she enjoyed many gambling spots, and undoubtedly a special seat is reserved for her at the Vault slot machines.

Elaine, now reunited with her late husband, is sipping a Miller Lite with him and without a question is telling him to turn down the TV while watching football.

Left to cherish Elaine and her memories include son Dalen and his wife Brandi, her grandchildren, sisters Linda (Charles) Holm-Peterson, LoAnn “Weezie” (Danny) Petrowitz, brother Darrell (Kathy) Holm, her nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends Elaine has touched throughout her lifetime.

Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
