Esther was born in Hazen on September 27, 1950, the ninth of 10 children born to Arthur and Leona (Miller) Fischer. She graduated from Beulah High School. Esther lived in Beulah for many years before moving to Bismarck for work.
Esther had been an avid reader, held a special interest in Native American Culture, and along with her sister Arlys, enjoyed traveling and adventures around the state. Family was very important to Esther, especially time spent with her siblings. Any holiday would find the family gathered somewhere. She was present for many milestones in the lives of her nieces and nephews and remembered them by sending them cards and gifts. She extended this into the next generation for her great nieces and great nephews.
Esther is survived by eight nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins, especially LaRita Baier of Hazen.
Esther was the last of her generation, preceded in death by her parents; sisters, LaVonne Mueller, Dorothy Becher, Wanda Hartman, Darlene Kukuk, Rose Fischer, Arlys Fischer; brothers, Leslie, Ervin, and Jene Fischer. She was also preceded in death by nephew Russell Fischer and niece June Hartman.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
